If you live in a hard -water area, it is a good idea to check your taps for damage from limescale build up once a year.
1. Turn off the mains water supply.
2.One at a time check that the headgear on each tap unscrews easily. Use penetrating oil to release stiff nuts and use a spanner and a wrench wrapped in a clothe to hold the body of the tap as you turn.
3.If limescale has built up in any part of the tap, remove the parts and soak all parts in vinegar or limescale remover. Smear the thread with lubricant before reassembling.
